Sujet: Alizé's lead up to the US Open Jeu 12 Juil - 7:13
Schedule: Week of 9th july : Biela (100 000$) Week of 16th july : Palermo (WTA) or Dnepropetrovsk ITF ($50,000) Week of 23th july : Bad Gastein (WTA) or Petange ITF ($75,000) Week of 30th july: Stochkolm (WTA) or Rimini (75 000$) Week of 27th august: US Open
Alizé needs 40 points to enter the top 100 and I am pretty sure that the entry lists for the US open are taken from the 16th of July. This means that Alizé has to reach at least the SF in Biella to be in the top 100 and be in the main draw for US Open.
It looks like next week Alizé will play in Dnipropetrovs'k because she has put herself as MDO for Palermo (not sure what that stands for) and apparently this means that she doesn't want to play qualifying and that she will only play if she can make the main draw. There are three people ahead of her so it's unlikely unless she gets a wildcard. In Dnepropetrovs'k she would be the number 2 seed (Su-Wei Tsheih is the #1) and she could easily win that in my opinion.
Hopefully if she does play Dnipropetrovs'k she will win enough matches to allow herself direct qualification to Bad Gastein and Stockholm.
what do you think of her lead up schedule?

Now that we know what happened and that she won three rounds of qualification at US Open 2007 and then 2 more rounds in the main draw and played a great match against Jankovic, it was a good thing that she went through all of that especially for her confidence !!

yeah that is true, I had to say I had very little faith in that schedule but it certainly did pay off in the end!
next up for Alizé is Bordeaux, because she can't get direct entry to any of the upcoming WTA tournaments because her ranking is still 105 or 97 for them. Hopefully once some new tournaments come around she will play some of the lower tier WTA:
Semaine du 10 septembre: Bordeaux (ITF 100 000$) Semaine du 1 octobre: Stuggart Semaine du 15 octobre: Zurich Semaine du 29 octobre: Quebec City
is her current schedule
oh and it's really great to have another english speaker on here!

I guess I'm not the only english speaker here ! You're in Australia ? Yes Alize said on the site that she will play Bordeaux. How come her ranking didn't go up after her us open results ? Are you sure about that ?

So Alizé will play in the Master Series of Zurich ! That's awesome she might be brilliant again there and earn some useful points !! If she plays well she'll be in the top 50 at the end of the year...

I'm here and there but right now I'm in France. You're lucky to attend the Australian open. I'd like to go there one day...
